August 27, 2007 at 11:10 pm | In Rant, Research, iPimp | Leave a CommentOkay, let’s imagine a world where its peaceful *peace-sign*, and nobody gets insulted, and all is nice and easy.. Then there’s only the privacy issue involved of allowing people to take photos of each other. So.. *cough* damn there’s alot of issues in here to address.. But okay, I should start Somewhere..
So.. googling “privacy, photo, people” I found some interesting articles:
“Google’s Street View and Privacy” http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2007/06/googles-street-view-and-privacy.html
“Street View only features imagery taken on public property. This imagery is no different from what any person can readily capture or see walking down the street.” Google also lets you remove inappropriate images, images that infringe on your privacy or present personal security concerns: just click on the help link and flag the current image.
All-seeing Google Street View prompts privacy fears http://technology.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/tech_and_web/article1870995.ece

“The photographs… have prompted unease in part because there is no apparent attempt to blur people’s faces or number plates or obscure what is happening inside private properties along the route taken by the car-mounted cameras.
Privacy law in both the US and the UK broadly allows the publication of photographs in public places.
People could contest under England’s privacy laws would be those of children and those that showed intimate acts in private places, such as sunbathing naked in one’s garden.”
Blah blah blah
Nobody questions the privacy if a photo of the Sydney Opera House is posted up with people standing in front of it and uploaded to flicker.. They are viewable in public ><
Nobody raises a question when the paparazzi photographs of the hollywood celebrities and publishs it on the media. I’m sure You’ve all bought magazines before with such images in them, and probably at times, just to look at these infringment of privacy photos. Yet you criticise things like this? plz
At least here’s an article that supports me ;p
“The web is built on a lack of privacy” http://technology.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/tech_and_web/the_web/article1850998.ece
”If asked, most people will say that they’re concerned about protecting their privacy and their personal information, but their behaviour generally suggests otherwise. For starters, many people post all kinds of information about themselves on social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook, apparently oblivious to the fact that those goofy drunken party pics are not going to be so amusing to a potential employer who comes across them in a Google search.
Yet even people who are much more savvy and concerned often don’t want to make the sacrifices that privacy protection involves. “
A Comment in the site ^:
McNealy’s right and anyone who argues for privacy is standing in an empty barn long after the last horse is gone. That barn door’s not just standing open it got torn off years ago by various commercial and institutional special interests and they have actually laid it flat on some sawhorses to make it easier to eat our lunch.
We don’t need privacy – we need anonymity. The Internet is not the problem – it’s the solution. There’s no need anyone we do business with to know anything about us unless we choose to sell them the data.
Here’s something straight to the point:
Scott McNealy, the colourful founder of Sun Microsystems, has been saying for years now in response to privacy issues: “You have no privacy. Get over it.”

August 22, 2007 at 7:21 pm | In Prototype1, Rant, Research, iPhone, iPimp | Leave a CommentHaha omg I cannot believe I’m actually doing an application for this.. rofl So.. what is this: I don’t supposed many would want to read about ‘pimp’ (so check out the best resource! wiki! *cough* http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pimp *cough*) This ’research’ is getting.. weirder hum.. lol Other very important links (for me to note) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bottom_Girl http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Prostitution Blah blah Okay, for the past 4 hours, I’ve been asking people on msn (male, 18-20s) about what they think about the iPimp game. I just sent them information on my initial idea.
Izzac… says:
LOL!!! i like it i think it works
»ÑàÜT¡|ÀTÔR« ® - says:
so if you get your pic taken, your whored?and the only way to be unwhored is to pass on the “whore” status to someone else is to get their pic taken?
i think that, if youve been whored, you can then recriut other “whores” and then if you have enoug, you can break away from your pimp and become your own
You always have someone higher above you
heavy legs mcgee says:
sounds like a good idea though
completely different interface
it is actually really clever
havent heard of anything like it
sort of like nintendo ds controller
gps is one way communication
the satellites do not know where you are
you would have to send that info over 3g
or equivalent
I think any game to get people off their ass is a good one
and ps…try and think of an equally clever scoring system
a good game deserves a good scoring system
reward high scored
like with a pimp hat or something
im thinkin of putting more into the photo/software?
like once you take the photo, you can add images on top
like clothing, hats, shoes, money, bling blah
yeh well facial recognition software is pretty good
yeh well make the extra images have to be earned/bought
with pimp points
with skype you can add a hat on your head and it tracks where your head is
so theoretically you could have a video profile pic
with all the moving bling etc
Phong says:
lol i tihnk thats an invasion of privacy
Dipak says:
wowwww i m wondering , why this game is not in real
i m desperate to play
u can use something like RATE ME
the image can be rated by audience
in particular time frame
most rated image can get some reward
any idea on how i can create ———– can’t comment without proper understanding, ( but java is good for mobile applications )
from reading what do u understand——– it makes first impression as adult game
would u play it?———— i can’t wait to play
what other target audience———— i guess age gropu 13 to 40
complaints?———– not right now, but sure , heaps later on
*help Ro-J*龍 @ Beijing…♪ says:
wow
then i guess it’s fine then!
how do you calculate the money if someone wants to do something for the person instead of “paying” them money?
i guess you’ll have to sign up to join the game, you have to recruit another person then you can remove the debt?
so like…making the team
but would those who have removed the debt still able to get “whored”?
so…if you’ve been recruited by a person, you won’t get whored again?
not by the same person
i guess you can be recruited by another
then how do you determain which side you’re on if you’ve been recruited by multiple sides?
say you’ve been recruited by one side~ like you said here “by recruiting other people to take their place (or gang up on you)” and the “leader” have been tracked down, can they still make put you at their place?
like…substitude?
so will the substitude be on both sides if this is the case
i can have like a cop vs pimp thing
“In the meantime, you can ‘blackmail’ them to pose for you or whatever. ” i don’t quite get this
because they are your whores, they must ’satisfy’ you, and you can make them pose in positions, and you get to take photos
but those whores would get to pose for multiple people won’t they? since they’re always been tracked or something
no, a whore can only have 1 pimp
but some questions only arise when this is put into action
like…perhaps connection problems, people can’t be found etc.
ya connection is a big thing
im just gonna assume in 10 years time, everyone has an iphone, either bluetooth is really really good, that internet is all fast speed, 3g is up and running, and ya [웨이샹♡3][-2698daystill] dissertation… says:
1) the game will not work
and 2) u cud fail this presentation
reasons
well in the society we live in such reckless game will not be taken in
cuz its about whores and pimps
obviously family members (parents especially) wud avoid getting their children involve
in the education system its like teaching a child how to be a pimp
even though its only a game
oh and besides the eithical and all those issues
there is also the issue of how many ppl wud actually turn their bluetooth on
or what ever connection ur planning to use
not to mention how many ppl are willing to learn how to use it?
there is a learning curve to everything
ive researched that when a game has a specific amount of level of learning curve*
the game play wud either drop early or late
simple words wud be the person playing the game wud get bored of it really
easy cuz they dont know how to play the game
